- Particle?filtering capacity?at?4 μm?up to?99%, in accordance with ISO 19438
- Water separation?efficiency of?96%, in accordance with ISO 16332
- The first UFI filter with a?hydrophobic core?in the cartridge
A new milestone for?UFI Filters?diesel filtering: the group – a leader in filtering and thermal management – has made the water-diesel separation system even more efficient for the OEM filter for the?Vauxhall Insignia B?1.6 and 2.0.
The new filtering module has a plastic exterior enveloping an innovative patented cartridge – the first UFI one containing a?hydrophobic core?that enhances its?water-diesel separation?efficiency. The pleated filter layer is formed of a polymer (meltblown) material for initial fine filtration. The very first drops of water are separated from the fuel, from the outside inwards, and combined in bigger particles that are then filtered by a cellulose core that completes the water separation by means of coalescence. The pleated material is coupled with a net-like plastic structure (PBT) that provides support and ensures greater resistance and a longer lifespan for the filter. The heart of this filter, and the true innovation, is the internal core covered with a?hydrophobic mesh: its job is to channel the water drops from the coalescence process downwards, preventing them from re-entering the circuit. This process improves the filtering capacity of the UFI Filters technology, resulting in a higher level of motor protection.
The filter, developed in our?Innovation Centers, guarantees a water-diesel separation?filtering efficiency?of?96%?(in accordance with?ISO 16332) with water?particles?at?10 ?m, and a?particle filtering capacity?of?99% at 4 μm?(in accordance with?ISO 19438).
The new cartridge is available from the UFI catalogue, with the code?UFI 26.E2X.01?and?SOFIMA S 1E2X NE.
