You Zou is the winner of the UFI CUP “special award”, the competition organised by Chinese newspaper Shanghai Daily in exclusive partnership with UFI Filters with the aim of improving environmental awareness of students attending schools in Shanghai.
The youngster was given a warm welcome at the UFI Filters head offices in Italy, together with his family, to learn more about the company and its sustainability projects.
More than 1,500 students took part in the competition which, throughout the year, involved elementary, middle and high schools in Shanghai. The final stage took place on 5 June on the occasion of World Environment Day. Students received awards from a jury of excellence, including Rinaldo Facchini, CEO of UFI Filters, and Antonio Farese of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.
The main topics discussed by students in their projects over the various stages in the competition included recycling, plastic, pollution and how Shanghai and the world as a whole can be made a better and greener place.
You Zou was named “Champion” of the essay contest on environmental practices and was rewarded with an Eco-Tour around Italy together with his family. The special award was presented by Giorgio Girondi, President of UFI FILTERS, who welcomed the student and his family to the company’s head offices.
